Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 12919

Question:

I have a single barrel shotgun that has two triggers. The front trigger breaks open the barrel and the back trigger fires it. It does have a hammer. The gun was redone by my grandfather who was a gunsmith. I believe the gun is a C.S. Shattuck probably made around 1878-1890. There are no markings on the gun other than under the forearm it has 1944, and on the receiver it also has 1944. These numbers could be the year that this gun was redone by my grandfather. I know that shattuck guns are not worth much, but I'm just try to find out if that is what I have. I can send a picture if needed. thanks j.b.

Answer:

I believe a shotgun like yours is pictured on page 753 of Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms ... and their values under single barrel shotguns; hammer and hammerless types. The shotgun pictured has a value of $100 to $300.
