Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 13525

Question:

Need to know age and any history with this rifle. Imperial Arms Co. Double barrel 12 ga. shotgun with double hammers. Believe serial number is 5254 9, the nine is offset some. Shotgun has etching all over and etching all down the rib between the barrels. It is engraved with the following: Lamented Steel made Expressly for H.B.Adams. Shotgun has been well used but in pretty fair shape and I'm sure will fire if cleaned. Believe this is civi war era. Researching for H.B. Adams all of them I find is pretty enfluencial

Answer:

Shotguns marked Imperial Arms company, Philadelphia Pa., were made in Belgium by George LaLoux circa 1920 - 1940. The shotguns were marked H. B. Adams.
