Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 13762

Question:

Ron, I noticed you had an answer for a Strong Salute cannon question. Do you know if there is any way to date those cannons? I recently acquired a 4 ga model from a close friend whose history went back only 50 years. At that point, he has no earlier history. There is no serial number on it I can find, just the stamp in the bronze with patent date. Thank you, Phil Grannan

Answer:

The Strong Fire Arms Company was originally known as the Strong Cartridge Co. at the turn of the century later becoming the Strong Fire Arms Co. The company is operating today in New Haven CT producing quality saluting cannon. I suggest you contact them to determine the age of your cannon.
