Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 13861

Question:

I have a percussion cap pistol with a octagonal barrel made by LaClede Gun Co. I know it was a Belgian gun maker and made primarily shot guns. But I can't find any more information then that. I"d like to try and date the gun. Thanks, Mike

Answer:

The shotguns were made in Belgium by the LaClede Gun Company for the Crescent Fire Arms Company from 1892 - 1935. I would therefore speculate your percussion pistol would date circa 1865 - 1885.
