Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 13873

Question:

I am a gunsmith working on a N.R. Davis & sons side by side double barrel side "dog eared" hammered 12 ga. shotgun. The Firing pins are not functioning properly. When open, the firing pins are not retracting, causing the action to be un-able to close until pushed in. The top snap lever also will not reset when closed. I have scoured the internet and many gun smithing shotgun books, but i can not find any type of parts diagram or disassembly process. Do you have any reference materials relating to this gun that would be helpful? Thank you!

Answer:

Dave, unfortunately I have only biographical data on the early shotguns, I have no assembly drawings.
