Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 13893

Question:

I have acquire a J. Stevens &Co what I believe to be a No. 8 Premier Rifle in .32 cal with serial number 23818 or possibly 23813, any way to date this or find any other specific info on it? Thanks

Answer:

Sorry, you have not provided enough information for me to comment on your rifle. I suggest you check the 9th edition of "Flaydermans Guide to Antique American Firearms" pages 252 to 261 as well as "Stevens Pistols and Pocket Rifles" by Kenneth L. Cope.
