Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 1533

Question:

I am interested in information on a 1873 remington, rolling block 32 cal long rifle, I would like some historical information or a source to find this. I've been given the opportunity to restore one and would like to see what one looks like, in good condition, are there parts for them? where were they made? etc etc, can I trace ownwership? etc, thank you if you can help.

Answer:

There are quite a number of Remington Rolling Block Models. The Model Number 2 Sporting Rifle was made from 1873 to 1910 in 32 caliber with 24 inch or 26 inch octagonal barrels. The various models can be reviewed in the 2001 Standard Catalog of firearms 11th edition.
