Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 2328

Question:

Mr. Gabel Thank you for this site! I have an old shotgun, what's it worth ? LOL (Sorry) This double damaskus barel shotgun is made by S.J.D&Co. It's a 12 Ga. The model is THE INTERNATIONAL SN. 73474 . I don't even know if it falls into the pre-1898 as it is stamped "Machine Made" on the rt. hammer plate. Any info on date of manufacture, the company or the gun itself will help. It is in very poor condition, broken breech and stock with shabby repair work, (non-functional) so price is not the issue unless you can tell me what it sold for new. Thanks so much, Ray...

Answer:

S.J.D. & Co., the International was made by Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin. Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin were Belgium gun makers from 1884 to 1905.
