Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 5076

Question:

Would like to know if a 22 single shot bolt action with the following marking on barrel is antique " J.G.A.Zella-Mehis, Germany 232044 " and any information that you could provide; thanks.

Answer:

J.G.A., often set vertically within a circle, was a trademark associated with J.G. Anschutz of Zella-Mehlis Germany c. 1930. Your rifle is not an antique but rather a curio or relic.
