Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 5109

Question:

Ron, I have a Colt 32-20 revolver, pat. Sept. 19,1871; July 2, 72; Jan 19, 75. It belonged to my grandparents. The serial 335617 or I7. Stamped on the side of the barrel is " 32 W.C.F. I would like to know approximate manf date and approx. value. Thanks, Ken

Answer:

Assuming your revolver is a Colt Peacemaker revolver your serial number indicates it was made in 1917. Any variation from the standard issue can have marked effects on value fluctuations, so a qualified appraisal must be secured. I will not comment on value as I am concerned only with guns made before 1898.
