Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 5123

Question:

I have been given a Western Sixshooter .22 caliber. the sixshooter is stamped Hawes Firearm Co., Los Angeles, California. Also, it is stamped Germany and a number 69139. My question is, how can I find out more information about is firearm (i.e. cutsheets, spec's, and/or parts availability)? Thanks in advance for considering this question!

Answer:

Hawes of Los Angeles, California was an importer of handguns made in Europe. These guns were made after 1898 and are outside my area of expertise.
