Question:
Hi, I have a 6 shot revolver that I got given to me by my cousin that he found in there old machine shed on there farm. On top of the barel it reads Harrington & Richardson arms company worcester, mass usa, may 14, Aug 6 89 april 2 95 April 7 1896, I would love to hear about the history of this gun, like if it was used in a war or something, thnx
Answer:
Harrington & Richardson was established in 1877, in November of 2000 the Marlin Fire Arms Co. purchased the companies assets. I suspect you have the American double-action revolver manufactured between 1883 and 1940. These revolvers were all civilian models.
