Here is Ron Gabel's answer to question number 5611

Question:

My cousin has a Stevens "Favorite" that our grandfather used to hunt pheasants with. Other Stevens boys 22s you mention are 1/2 round, 1/2 octagon barrels, but this one is octagon all the way. Is there a difference in this or the 1/2 and 1/2?

Answer:

Stevens Favorites are listed as having part-octagonal barrels, but with the added note they were available with a number of options. I suspect your full octagon barrel was an option which could add a bit to the guns value.
