Hi Ron, I bought a 16 ga. shotgun. On the left barrel it says FUSIL ROBUST BREVETE S.G.D.C. , CAL 16 CHOKE CHAMBRE 70 . ON BOTTOM IT HAS SERIAL NO. AND 17.0 , EPREUVE FINIE, PRESSION 1200 BARS. HAS IMBLEM M BESIDE WHAT LOOKS LIKE TWO CROSSED CANNONS WITHA CIRCLE TARGET IN CENTER OF CROSSED CANNONS AND AN ARROW GOING THRU AND POINTING DOWN. ON RIGHT BARREL, MANUFRANCE-SAINT-ETTENNE, CAL 16 DEMI CHOKE. BOTTOM SIDE MADE IN FRANCE, ACIER SPECIAL PARACHROME. HAS EMBLEM OF WREATH WITH M IN CENTER OF IT, AND SAINT ON TOP AND ETTENNE UNDER WREATH. 222 ON BARREL. ON SIDE OF MAIN FRAME IT HES CAISTAIRV. BOTTOM OF MAIN FRAME ROBUST IS INSET IN AN OVAL. BUTTSTOCK HAS M WITH F ON RIGHT LEG INSIDE WREATH. HAS A BUILT IN RETRACTABLE SLING IN STOCK THAT HASBRETELLE AUTOMATIQUE WITH BTE S.G.D.G.IN CENTER. ON TOP OF MAIN FRAME HAS TWO CROWNS AND PT . DOUBBLE TRIGGER AND UNDE THUMB LATCH SERIAL NO. AND 222. WOOD HAS CHECKERINGFORE AND BUTT. CAN YOU YELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THIS GUN AND HOW TO FIND OUT ITS VALUE? THANKS RUSSELL
Shotguns marked "Acier Special" or Special Steel, with a crossed hammer cartouche were made by Neumann Freres, a Belgium gunmaker. Your French shotgun may have been made using Belgium barrels.
