i found a hopkins & allen double action #6 with an octagon barrell, what is the date of this handgun and its value?

Answer:

Hopkins and Allen, established in 1868, produced a variety of hinged-frame double action break-open revolvers in various lengths, all of which retail at about $175 in fair condition. Most were made late in the 19th century.
